Hey everyone, and Happy October! This is by far my favorite month besides December because I love fall, Halloween, and my birthday (tehe!) Anyways, I am back to my blog. Sorry for being MIA for the past couple of days. Adventuring to New York and college can take a lot of time out of you. I'll have a photo diary of my wonderful weekend in New York sometime next week. I apologize in advance for only being able to provide iPhone photographs (we forgot the camera!)
Obviously in New York, I did some fabulous quick shopping. For today's post, I am featuring two of my great finds for a Top Gun inspired style! First, my sweet boyfriend's mother bought me this awesome Urban Outfitters military-inspired jacket for an early birthday present. This is a huge trend for fall! At first, I had been looking for a hunter green one (which they do have), but in honor of being a blonde and Will's dream to be in the Air Force, I settled on navy blue. I also picked up this adorable polka dotted Forever 21 sweatshirt. I got it a size bigger because I like to feel engulfed but not in a way that makes me look wide. I was inspired by Seventeen Magazine to try the idea of just buttoning the top button only and let the sweatshirt peek through. Great suggestion 17! I just paired this with, no surprise here, a light pair of jeggings and some nude heels. Once again, my Kate Spade look-alike purse makes it appearance. You would not believe how many times I was asked in New York if it was Kate Spade's. The reaction to hear it was Francesca's was priceless. But hey, with this look, I am ready to go fly my own fighter jet (yeah right, tehe!)
Also, as it being the beginning of October, I made a pledge that for the entire month of October I will be make up free. 1 Peter 3:3-4 says, "It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you- the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. This beauty will never disappear, and it is worth very much to God." As a girl, I hide behind my make up, and let it be my wall. I am pledging to find my confidence without having to hide my face. So that I may find the beauty that is worth everything to God.
