Hello, hello, hello. It's been a hot minute since I've been on here. Lots has changed, lots hasn't. I thought I would catch y'all up though on everything that has taken place over the past year. Here's the big stuff Scout photography by Bark and Soul Animal Rescue First and foremost, meet the newest edition to the Tucker Family, Scout "Bubs" Tucker! Scout came to us mid-February, and little did we know it would be such a blessing. We live in more of a rural area on the outskirts of the county so seeing dogs wander around was a bit of a norm. He came onto our property but kept his distance. He would slowly but surely get closer to the house, and finally one day I decided to feed him because he looked just so darn hungry. The next morning he was underneath one of our cars shaking from the cold rain. After that day, we set up camp for him on our back porch and tried to find an owner. No chip, no contact from any Facebook ads on any page, no flyers. Scout soon became ours. We kept on having conversations about how we wanted a dog but our lifestyle couldn't handle it. A few days later, God brought us this pup. He is the cutest thing ever. I've never seen a dog with SUCH a personality. He may have found the perfect home to live a life at, but it is us that will be forever be grateful. Sun Records Will had the amazing opportunity to play Scotty Moore, Elvis Presley's guitar player, in the CMT series, Sun Records. It aired this past February, and it was incredible. I was so proud of him for stepping out and trying something adventurous, new, and different. It is a bit surreal to see your husband on a television screen! If you have yet to see this series, you can catch reruns of it on CMT or you can stream it on Amazon! The Shop bThe biggest thing that 2017 brought to me was my new online/pop-up store, Shelby Jewel! It's been a dream of mine to be my own boss and have my own company. I knew I would dabble in fashion someway or another, and the Lord really put opening my own store on my heart. It had been in my mind for about a year, and I finally took the leap. I left my job at the local boutique I worked at, attended market, built my company, brand, and products, scheduled photoshoots, and launched with a preview party mid-November. It has been amazing, and the response y'all have given it is incredible. I cannot thank y'all enough! The Lord really pushed me with this venture, but He also set me on a path I've been praying for so long for. I won't lie, there were some really hard parts, but we grow, learn from it all. We've learned to trust in God more than ever. This past year was filled with lots of good though: helping behind the scenes with Memphis Fashion Week | lots of trips to - the beach - Dallas - Chicago - San Francisco - Disney World | we took steps into adulthood purchases, such as trading in my Mini, Eloise, for a new 4runner, Chloe, and decided to jump into a healthier lifestyle which means diving into training for triathlons | we celebrated SO much - the birth of Eden, one of my close friend's little gal - the birth of my nephew, Jag - my other nephew, Ezra's, 3rd birthday - one of my best friend's 25th bday (threw her a surprise party at my home) - my sister-in-law's wedding - my 24th birthday - Will's 24th birthday - our 2nd wedding anniversary. There were so many other small, sweet memories made this past year that just made my heart full. God has truly blessed me with an unbelievable life filled with so much treasured forgiveness + grace, unconditional love, and incredible support.
As for the blog, I'm taking it in a different direction. My passion for the love of clothes and styling will still be shared and is still very much there, but with the online shop, I really need an outlet that I can truly just come to and be creative and open on. This blog isn't particularly a fashion blog anymore, and I'm okay with that. I'm not sure what category this blog places me in, but who needs a category. This will be anything and everything - faith, beauty, travel, life, fashion, family, celebration, encouragement, etc. Thank you so much for the love and support you've given this blog. It's been such a humbling experience, and I hope you will continue to follow along. xo Shelby Jewel
