Happy Monday, darlings! It is the best feeling in the world to wake up and know you have a whole new week ahead of you. You feel more adventurous, more inspired, more ready for the trials and tribulations you may encounter. (Now, grant it, Monday's also take a lot of coffee to feel that - though this is coming from a non-coffee-drinker.) This past week we had a guest speaker come to our class to refresh our minds and create a new perspective on nine life principles he believes would help one in not just their work ethic and attitude but life as well. One of the points that hit me hard and stuck was that he believes it makes a world of a difference when you can wake up and just have a quiet time to prepare for your day mentally and emotionally. This may be being in the Word, having a prayer, reading a chapter of your favorite book, checking out your favorite blogs, or just sitting on the couch sipping on hot coffee and looking out your window at the world you have in front of you. So, my challenge for all of you today is just take a second to be quiet. Put down your phone, breathe, and do something that just calms you. It is so important how you take this moment because it may make a whole difference in your day, your week. It is definitely a challenge for me to implement this because I am so not a morning person. However, giving an extra 15 minutes in my morning that could impact my entire day I say is worth it.
There is something about when a white blanket falls down in a place that usually doesn't get much snow. To me, it is just breathtaking. (And, definitely makes a good backdrop for blog photos. Haha!) But, it is like this whole world you saw right in front of you the day before has gotten this miraculous, gorgeous makeover. A couple weeks ago, Memphis experienced one of those days. Yes, those tiny 0.5 inches of snow cancelled the city. (Seriously, the 901 goes a bit crazy the moment a snowflake hits the road.) However, I am not complaining! I got to have an unexpected snow day adventure with my new hubs that contained a late morning, grilled cheese truck runs, and still got to see him rock out at B.B. King's later that night. Unexpected, spontaneous days are the best, especially with your best friend.
Since our winter has not been terribly cold, I knew it was the moment to break out my newKate Spade furry bow earmuffs. I snagged them at on outlet mall in Florida, but lucky for y'all, they are sold online as well. I opted to bring out my pink complements with them. This blush sweater is, NO LIE, like, the softest sweater I have ever owned. I bought it in grey as well. Unfortunately, it had gone on sale for so long and sold out. This pink sweater from J.Crew is the perfect substitute for it. AND, it's on sale for under $25. You cannot beat that. It is such a great transitional piece from winter to spring. I have owned this striped Banana Republic trench for quite some time now. It is one of my all-time favorites. I have linked a similar one below.
Thanks so much for all the patience while I get my life back together! Don't forget to try to implement a quiet time in your mornings. If you tried it, what would your 15 minutes of quiet time be? I would love to hear!
Have a wonderful Monday!
