Yesterday was the dreaded day I have been loathing about for three months...the first day of classes. Yet, it is also the day to make the first impressions to classmates. With that in mind, I chose more of a classier, daintier look; but it also provided a light feeling, considering it is one of the hottest weeks in Memphis. Go figure! I started out with a simple, sheer nude blouse from Forever 21. It is a great go-to piece when I want to accentuate new accessories and/or shoes. For example, I fell in love with these adorable polka-dotted J. Crew flats the moment I saw them. They are definitely a statement piece! They really helped to brighten up my Monday and gave me the confidence boost for a nervous first day. However, my new obsession is my Fossil Sydney Tote. I was planning on not wearing a backpack this semester, for the most part, so I went out on a hunt. I knew it was the one! It was the perfect color, size, and number of pockets I was looking for. No doubt this bag will be seen repeatedly for the next couple of months!
*A little tip for students and workers: I have started to plan my wardrobe for the week so that my early mornings are easier and faster. I usually step aside on the weekend and try every outfit on to make sure I am comfortable with the fit. I also plan the accessories and snapshot a photo to remember what I chose. I just end up making a side album in my camera roll for that week. I must say my Monday morning went ten times smoother than normal. No need to fret if you do not have time on the weekend! Planning an outfit the night before is still a great and time-saving alternative. If you are the type of person that has their closet on the floor/bed rather than actually hanging up *raises hand* , then this trick is definitely one for the books!
