Happy Halloween everyone! Now, it is definitely an understatement to say that Will did a heck of a job for my birthday. My feet are extremely happy having the new Tory Burch Kiernan Riding Boots as some new footwear for fall and winter. Since the first day of wearing my boots is somewhat like a national holiday for me, I opted for my one of my favorite staple pieces in my wardrobe, my leopard boyfriend blazer from OASAP. The thing I love about this blazer is that it has the length and warmth of a peacoat, but it is lighter and cooler inside, meaning I do not get so hot wearing it. I chose a satin-like white shirt to give it a classy, simple look. Of course, I had to wear my Tory boots with this ensemble. Another present Will got me has become my new favorite accessory. I have had my eye on the Cecile rose gold watch from Fossil, and sure enough, he surprised me with it! It is absolutely beautiful, and I recommend to any girl to invest in a rose gold watch. What are some of your favorite fall staple pieces?
It is also the last day of my make up free challenge. What I have learned throughout this experience is something that one will never be able to grasp unless you experience it personally. You find this whole new beauty about you, not just physically. You feel cleaner, revived. God really showed me who I was and what I have a gift in when I do not hide. I focused less on trying to look "pretty" and more on studies, quality time with loved ones, and quality time with Him. It provided more opportunities to let me cherish times I sometimes do not always get. Even though I still will wear make up, I will not wear make up for the fact that I am ashamed of what I look like or to make myself think I am more confident with it on. I know now that people love you for who you are on the inside, for the real beauty. So, my confidence does not come from a red lip or winged eyeliner, but from knowing that God is always right beside me holding my hand. With that, I can conquer anything. I would like to thank everyone for the love and support I have gotten through this month and challenge. It was so inspiring and needed. There is no doubt in my mind that God has truly blessed me with gifts within, loved ones, and most importantly, a beauty that He finds the most gorgeous of all.
It is not the fact that I am twenty years old now, it is the fact that I am not a teenager that is odd to me. I am so excited to see the journey and opportunities this age has for me. Considering that Monday was my birthday, I decided to do a post on what I wore for the day of my birthday. This Houndstooth Jacket from Forever 21 was a birthday present from one of my dear friends. I am obsessed with it to the point that I have already worn it three times! The first time I wore a white over-sized button down that I am sure will be featured on the blog at some point. This time I decided to add my favorite color, red. I found this super comfortable sweater at TJ Maxx for only $13. The same obsession goes for it as well. I paired it with my brown boots to give it more of a fall look. Since it was not as cold on Monday, I chose my Forever 21 Decadent Flower Bib Necklace as a statement piece.
For all those wondering how my birthday was, it was the absolute best. I spent it with my close friends, family, and boyfriend! Will took me downtown to a spectacular restaurant called Flight. The food there is to die for. I definitely recommend it whenever yall take a Memphis trip. I came back for cake and laughter with Will, family, and close friends! I cannot wait to share all the goodies I received. This was definitely one for the books. Thanks to all who sent me love and birthday wishes Monday! Have a fabulous day yall!
Plaid strikes again! Ladies, this plaid Zara scarf is probably in my top three favorite scarves I own. As us fashionistas call it, "The Blanket Scarf." It is enormous, cozy, ultra-fabulous, and only $40! This is one of my biggest recommendations for your fall wishlist. There are so many ways to style this. I styled it with an olive green long-sleeve shirt from, once again, TJ Maxx. Since it was a little chillier yesterday, I threw on my American Eagle cardigan that I pair with anything and everything! I had planned on wearing flats yesterday, but I did not feel like putting my feet under a heater the whole way home. So, I opted for my brown boots! To finish it off, of course, I had to add my precious pearls and my simple gold Forever 21 ring.
On another note, my next feature I post will be on Monday, which means I will be 20 years old (weird.) I am so excited to celebrate this entire weekend with family and friends. Dinner dates, drive in movies with vintage cars, The Color Run, cake, and good times are all in store for the next four days! I cannot wait to post all my outfits from this weekend and my birthday outfit! Also, I will be nominating my seven Versatile Blogger nominees and fun seven facts about me in the next few days. So, stay tuned my fellow followers! Have a fabulous weekend!
P.S. Thanks so much for all the support every single one of y'all have given me since the launch of The Memphis Jewel. I could not be able to do it without all the love and encouragment.
