I kept my word and said I would try to put together more ensembles of mixing and matching patterns. I took on two patterns that are definitely a must for this upcoming fall season: leopard and stripes! I found this precious Forever 21 dress in my closet and saw that I had not worn it yet. With that, I knew it was time to put together a new outfit. I was so excited to settle on my Charlotte Russe leopard flats. When I picked them out to try them on, I was a bit skeptical; however, they made the look. I accentuated the waist with a simple white belt and chose a chained gold bracelet to give it a little pizzazz. I took a twist on the simple pearl and went with a pair i found at an antique mall. I love the gold detail surrounding the pearl! Now ladies, do not get discouraged if mixing patterns does not work out the very first time. It can get tricky, and I have had to spend some hours trying on different outfits! Do not forget though, it is always about having fun! What are your two favorite patterns to mix and match?
As it gets even hotter here in Memphis, I chose to go with some lightweight clothing to try and keep cool. I must say to Mother Nature though, she is definitely going the wrong way with the seasons! To accommodate her choice of weather, I decided on my LC Lauren Conrad sheer, floral blouse. I read that it is always a good idea to keep the eye at one particular part of your body (aka not have too much revealing skin). This blouse was perfect because it kept the rule in check but provided a nice breeze like a tanktop. I paired it with my seafoam, semi-highwaisted shorts to give it more of a classy look. Due to the 3-D floral pattern up top, I focused more on earrings and bracelets. As I was roaming through Target the other day, I spotted this pair of LOVE earrings and couldn't pass them up. I added just a flesh-colored flat and Henri Bendel bracelets to bring it all together. Though I adore summer colors for a wardrobe, I am so ready for sweaters and Pumpkin Spice Lattes! Who is with me?
So, Casual Friday came early, or was it late? On Saturday, Will took me to "Date Night" at the shooting range, which included nachos and loud guns! To get in the spirit, I took on a comfy, tomboy-ish look. These jeans are two years old but one of Will's favorite pairs as well. I don't blame him! With a white trim around the entire pant and the name "Memphis Jeans," it was meant to be. I threw on an all Americana "Enjoy Coke" tee from Target that provided a little bit of the color of confidence, red. For all you Legally Blonde fans out there, you've heard that phrase before! I paired my white Chuck Taylor's to accentuate the white lining on my jeans. For a little uniqueness, I chose my Wayfarer earrings from Forever 21. It kept it fun yet casual. If you are wondering how I did at the range, let's just say I need some lessons!
P.S. For National Doggie Day two days ago, I wanted to introduce my sweet pup, Charles. We are two peas in a pod. By the way, he waves hello!
