Can I get a HALLELUJAH?!? (Can I get an amen?!?! Sorry, went on a little country song rampage there) Anyways, I am so, so thankful it is Friday. This week has been so filling! It is wonderful to be back blogging while being able to settle down with schoolwork and still make time for the hubs + sweet friends. Distractions and events, of course, will still happen, but for right now, I am super happy I am back on track!
We decided to celebrate the New Year at Alys Beach with my in-laws this year. Even though it rained and stayed muggy the whole time, it was so nice to get away and just spend time with loved ones. There was just relaxation and fun times. I tried to keep it simple when I went down and, for once, actually plan what I wanted to wear. This Old Navy sweater is one of my favorites. Of course, like I always do, I ended up ordering it in two colors. I mean for a comfortable, chic sweater for $15, who can blame me?! I realize as time goes on that I am not super much into scarves as just "accessories". I actually like to purchase scarves for the functionality of them. It doesn't get absolutely freezing here in Memphis, so I raided through all the scarves I have owned since high school and opted for a small amount of blanket scarves differentiating by thickness. When I found this simple blush Forever 21 scarf, I just need I had to add it to my collection. It is super warm and goes with everything. I have already worn it out this winter. Any shoe really would've gone with this particular outfit, dark brown boots, a pair of converses, or even some light grey booties, but I opted to stay within the neutral family and decided on my Tuckernuck leopard flats. Yes ladies, that is right: in my eyes, leopard is a neutral! You can literally pair anything and everything with it. If you have ever been down around the Destin, 30A, PCB area, you know there is an outlet mall in Destin. I snagged my tan and white Kate Spade purse there, but I linked some of my favorites that I have on my wishlist and this cute little purse I got for Valentine's Day below.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful week, and I truly hope you have just a fabulous weekend! xo
P.S. If you are ever go to the Kate Spade store in the outlet mall in Destin, and you are a student, don't forget to show them your student I.D. to get an extra 15% off your purchase.

It is the most magical moment. Stepping into the most beautiful dress and knowing it is the one. This was the first dress I ever stepped into. Maggie Louise Bridal Boutique just knew exactly what I wanted and delivered. I could not believe that God had it planned that way. Ladies, no matter where you are, Maggie Louise is that dress shop you always imagined going to in your dreams to pick out your gorgeous dress but you never thought exist. i am here to tell you, it does!! You literally feel like a princess at your appointment. The trio who work there are filled with nothing short of amazing, God-driven love that you can't help but just consume when you walk in. There was never another dress I thought about for a second than this Monique Lhuillier Bliss gown. The lace was everything I had imagined and more. We extended the train a foot longer to give it more of a dramatic look (I mean, who could blame me?) When Molly Farrell, owner of Maggie Louise, placed this Untamed Petals veil on me, I just bursted into tears - as did everyone, I believe. This dress became a part of the most important day of my life. The day I got to marry the most humbled, selfless, God-driven man I could have ever imagined. It is the day I would stand before the Lord and give my whole heart, soul and mind to him. There was no doubt that Will fell in love with the dress too. I knew going into my dress shopping that I wanted to pick something that was obviously me, but that would make every dream Will has ever had about his bride come true, because that is the least he deserved.
My bridals were such a fun, exhilarating day. My momma, MOH, and MIL came with me to the Memphis Botanic Gardens to meet up with the sweetest, most talented, wonderful, fabulous Lindsey Lissau. I did multiple photoshoots with her for this occasion, and I just could not get enough of her work. She has just such an eye for everything I was looking for and more. She could literally take anything I had in my mind and put it exactly into a photograph. Ladies, if you are in the Memphis area, please please please do not hesitate to contact Lindsey as your photographer/videographer. I cannot recommend her ENOUGH.
I am just so excited to share these photos that represent such a magical memory with you guys. Without further ado...
Happy Monday, darlings! It is the best feeling in the world to wake up and know you have a whole new week ahead of you. You feel more adventurous, more inspired, more ready for the trials and tribulations you may encounter. (Now, grant it, Monday's also take a lot of coffee to feel that - though this is coming from a non-coffee-drinker.) This past week we had a guest speaker come to our class to refresh our minds and create a new perspective on nine life principles he believes would help one in not just their work ethic and attitude but life as well. One of the points that hit me hard and stuck was that he believes it makes a world of a difference when you can wake up and just have a quiet time to prepare for your day mentally and emotionally. This may be being in the Word, having a prayer, reading a chapter of your favorite book, checking out your favorite blogs, or just sitting on the couch sipping on hot coffee and looking out your window at the world you have in front of you. So, my challenge for all of you today is just take a second to be quiet. Put down your phone, breathe, and do something that just calms you. It is so important how you take this moment because it may make a whole difference in your day, your week. It is definitely a challenge for me to implement this because I am so not a morning person. However, giving an extra 15 minutes in my morning that could impact my entire day I say is worth it.
There is something about when a white blanket falls down in a place that usually doesn't get much snow. To me, it is just breathtaking. (And, definitely makes a good backdrop for blog photos. Haha!) But, it is like this whole world you saw right in front of you the day before has gotten this miraculous, gorgeous makeover. A couple weeks ago, Memphis experienced one of those days. Yes, those tiny 0.5 inches of snow cancelled the city. (Seriously, the 901 goes a bit crazy the moment a snowflake hits the road.) However, I am not complaining! I got to have an unexpected snow day adventure with my new hubs that contained a late morning, grilled cheese truck runs, and still got to see him rock out at B.B. King's later that night. Unexpected, spontaneous days are the best, especially with your best friend.
Since our winter has not been terribly cold, I knew it was the moment to break out my newKate Spade furry bow earmuffs. I snagged them at on outlet mall in Florida, but lucky for y'all, they are sold online as well. I opted to bring out my pink complements with them. This blush sweater is, NO LIE, like, the softest sweater I have ever owned. I bought it in grey as well. Unfortunately, it had gone on sale for so long and sold out. This pink sweater from J.Crew is the perfect substitute for it. AND, it's on sale for under $25. You cannot beat that. It is such a great transitional piece from winter to spring. I have owned this striped Banana Republic trench for quite some time now. It is one of my all-time favorites. I have linked a similar one below.
Thanks so much for all the patience while I get my life back together! Don't forget to try to implement a quiet time in your mornings. If you tried it, what would your 15 minutes of quiet time be? I would love to hear!
Have a wonderful Monday!
