This is probably one of my absolute favorite blog posts to be able to share! I mean - when one of your absolute best friends is an incredible photographer, you can't help but be oh so excited. We celebrated our one year exactly a month ago, and I I thought it would be a sweet and memorable thing to do an anniversary shoot on our actual anniversary.
We held onto our top tier of our wedding cake so we could dig into it a year later. We were a little apprehensive of how it would taste, but it was actually really yummy! We used the same champagne flutes and cake cutters from our wedding to round the whole occasion out. Later that day, Will had surprised me with reservations at a restaurant here in Memphis we have been wanting to try, Restaurant Iris, and it was so good! But, the surprise did not end there. He turned towards downtown instead of away from civilization like where we live. As I was trying to figure out what was going on, he ended up turning into the Bass Pro Pyramid and had our exact suite from our wedding night booked for a night. It was crazy to think that we were in that exact room after the best night of our lives a year later. I just could not believe how he had planned it all. He is the absolute sweetest!
This dress is my absolute favorite dress that I have hanging in my closet - with the exception of my wedding dress, of course. I knew I wanted a dress that was holiday festive but still very classy because we decided that one of these would also be our Christmas card photo. This Adrianna Papell dress just spoke directly to me. I knew the moment I saw it that pairing it with a red lip and my favorite Kendra Scott earrings that it would fit my vision!
I want to thank our photographer and dear friend, Lauren Flowers. She is absolutely amazing - from making us feel super comfortable and always having an encouraging and positive attitude during the shoot to spending meticulous time picking out and editing the photos to make sure they were everything we wanted. If you live in Memphis or surrounding areas, this is your girl from any family portrait, wedding, or occasion shooting. I'm telling you - she will surpass all your expectations. It is also a bonus that we may look like twins with the same style of clothes and our long blonde hair. (Haha!) We can't tell you how many times someone as gotten us mixed up from behind!!
Lastly, we want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year! We are so thankful for this year and for all the love, opportunities, and friends we have gained. We are ready to ring in the most wonderful time of the year and the new year. xo
